Caption: Simon Herniman – Field Assistant This was a full inspection of the Creeks in order to find a suitable location for second call. Each Creek was marked with a flag, so that the returning ship ES would be able to identify from the seaside. This was an unusual year as there was no sea-ice whatsoever, which made all of the near station creeks unworkable. Both Halley relief visits were done at N9 in the season.
