Caption: Ice penetrating RADAR being used during the JR240 ICEbell cruise. The RADAR, used to see layering & structure within the ice, as part of creating a 3 dimentional understanding of sea ice. This work is essencial for interpreting satelite images which look at the vast areas of sea ice in the polar regians. The scientists are Claus Hochheim and Kerri Warner. In the distance is the British Antarctic Survey ship the RRS James Clark Ross
